We Asked, You Responded: What Does Great Leadership Mean to You?

In today’s global workforce, great leadership is absolutely vital to an organization’s success.

According to the Deloitte 2014 Global Human Capital Trends Survey of 2,500+ business and HR leaders in 94 countries, leadership is, by far, the most urgent issue facing companies today with fully 38 percent of all respondents rating it “urgent,” almost 50 percent more than the percentage rating the next issue “urgent.” According to the report, the “continuous need for new and better leaders has accelerated. In a world where knowledge doubles every year and skills have a half-life of 2.5 to 5 years, leaders need constant development.”

This trend echos our experience at Disney Institute – leadership development is top of mind for many of the organizations with whom we work. And, it’s only a matter of time before more organizations recognize the critical connection between leadership development, employee engagement, the customer experience, and the bottom line.

At Disney Institute, we have found that leadership is dependent on the action one takes rather than the position one holds. Those actions include establishing, operationalizing and sustaining the values and vision by which their organization thrive.
