Bruce I. Jones
Programming Director
Disney Institute

Bruce Jones is programming director for Disney Institute.  In this role, Bruce oversees the team that develops engaging content built around the five topics that Disney is best known for – Leadership Excellence, People Management, Quality Service, Brand Loyalty, and Creativity & Innovation. Bruce also ensures the content is suitable for presentation across a variety of formats, including Web casts, keynote presentations and multi-day courses.

Bruce joined Walt Disney World® Resort in 1988 as an assistant restaurant manager at the Disney Village Marketplace. Within a year, he was promoted to restaurant manager and transferred to Pleasure Island, Disney’s nighttime entertainment complex. As a ticket manager there, Bruce was part of the opening team and was responsible for admissions, parking, and operations.

In 1992, Bruce took a management role with Chef Mickey’s Restaurant, moving to the Empress Lilly Restaurant complex the following year. Bruce brought his extensive operations experience to Disney Institute in 1995, starting as a facilitator of open enrollment programs. He later managed Disney Institute customized programs before taking on additional leadership responsibilities and assuming his current role in March 2003.

Prior to joining Walt Disney World® Resort, Bruce managed restaurant operations for organizations such as Bennigan’s Taverns, Ground Round Restaurants, and Associated Inns and Restaurant Company of America.

Bruce received his Bachelor of Science in Business Management and Administration from Bradley University in Peoria, Ill., and was awarded his Master’s of Business Administration with honors from Crummer Graduate School at Rollins College in Winter Park, Fla., in 2002.

A member of the American Society for Training and Development (ASTD), Bruce also is part of the Beta Gamma Sigma business honor society and recently began serving on the advisory board for Training Magazine, a 41-year-old professional development magazine that advocates training and workforce development as a business tool.

Bruce lives in Central Florida with his wife, Nancy, and their children.
