Disney Institute Enhances Creativity Program with New Guest Speakers, Best Practices, Content

Program Formats Include Keynote Presentations,
Half-Day Workshops and Multi-Day Experiences

LAKE BUENA VISTA, Fla. (Nov. 13, 2009) – Disney Institute has taken one of its core programs, "Disney’s Approach to Inspiring Creativity," and refreshed it with all-new content, new guest speakers and new behind-the-scenes experiences designed to help organizations define their culture and keep their businesses growing.

Disney’s Approach to Inspiring Creativity has been specifically tailored to incorporate new best practices from across The Walt Disney Company. Focused on strategies and tactics that have helped Disney maintain its creative and innovative culture in good times and bad, the program can help other organizations be equally successful.

"Creativity at Disney means much more than the ability to draw or develop an ad campaign," said Jeff James, vice president, Disney Institute. "It’s the basis for everything we do – from keeping Cast Members engaged and happy in their jobs to providing the best possible Guest experience in our parks and resorts."

Additions and enhancements to Disney’s Approach to Creativity include:
• New activities that explore the concepts of storytelling, idea-sharing, and context creativity.
• Interactive exercises – derived from Walt Disney Imagineering creative processes – that can be applied successfully in virtually any business setting.
• New guest speakers, case studies, and content from across The Walt Disney Company. This gives the updated program the broadest range of content in Disney Institute history.

"Walt and Roy Disney knew that their company’s success relied on their ability as leaders to encourage innovative ideas and then support the development of those ideas," James said. "Disney Institute shows how that process has remained a cornerstone of our company and offers ideas for implementing similar processes in other organizations – whether it’s a large company or a new business with just a few employees."

Disney’s Approach to Inspiring Creativity is available at Walt Disney World Resort in Lake Buena Vista, Fla., and Disneyland Resort in Anaheim, Calif. Content can also travel to client locations around the world. Program formats include 90-minute keynote presentations, half-day workshops, and one- and multi-day experiences.
