Austin Brock
Facilitator and Content Specialist, Disney Institute

Professional Experience

Austin Brock is both a facilitator and content specialist for Disney Institute. In these strategic roles, Austin develops and delivers content designed to inspire not only professionals, but her fellow facilitators.

Austin began her Disney career in 1995 with the Disney Store in her home state of Texas. She relocated to the Walt Disney World Resort in Lake Buena Vista, Fla., in 1999 and became a merchandise manager at Disney′s Pleasure Island. Austin′s leadership qualities and insights were quickly recognized, and in 2000 she was selected to guide new Disney cast members through Disney Traditions, the company′s employee orientation program.

That position led to increasingly important responsibilities, such as writing training programs for the Walt Disney World sales division. Austin also worked with the Disney College Program to teach interns courses in organizational leadership, hospitality management, experiential learning, and Disney communications.

Austin′s affinity for teaching helped her transition to the Disney College Program’s educator relations group in 2001. In that role, Austin traveled the country consulting with college and university faculty and administration about students headed for Walt Disney World internships. Austin joined Disney Institute as a facilitator in 2007 before being promoted to her current position in 2008.

Prior to Disney, Austin spent a decade working at radio stations across Texas and Missouri. Austin resides in Orlando, Fla.

Education

Austin was awarded a Bachelor of Arts degree from Baylor University in 1989 and Master of Arts degree in communications studies in 1990, also from Baylor University.
